With prayer, hands, and hope, we will rebuild again
When the winds of Hurricane Melissa swept through Lucea, Saints Philip and James Church once again felt their force. Sections of the newly rebuilt roof — restored after Hurricane Beryl — were torn away and scattered nearby. Rain poured through the open beams, soaking pews and sacred space alike.
Yet even in the storm’s aftermath, our faith does not falter. As church members gathered to pray, they reminded one another: the Church is not only wood and stone, but the living Body of Christ — alive in each heart that believes.
The faithful of Lucea have already begun cleaning, salvaging, and giving thanks — for though the waters entered our walls, grace never left our home.

With prayer, hands, and hope, we will rebuild again — stronger, together, and rooted in the unshakable love of God.
Please keep the community of Saints Philip and James in your prayers as we continue responding to the needs of our community — trusting always that Christ calms every storm.
