Bishop Burchell
It is with gratitude to God and faith in the Risen Christ that I announce to you the death of Bishop Emeritus, Burchell McPherson. Bishop Burchell passed over fully into our God, who is love (1 Jn 4:16) Inseparable (Rom. 8:38-39), at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, the Solemnity of the Annunciation of Our Lord, after a long struggle with poor health.
We thank God for Bishop Burchell’s many years of dedicated ministry amoung us – as a lay pastoral worker, deacon, and priest of the Archdiocese of Kingston, and as the Third Bishop of our Diocese of Montego Bay from 2013 to 2023.
Details of the funeral services for Bishop Burchell will be announced soon.
Let us accompany our beloved brother in prayer as he is brought home on the shoulders of the Good Shepherd.
